E-Learning is an approach to learning in which technology is used to promote, enrich and enhance the effectiveness of the learning taking place. The aim of the LSC-funded E-Enabling Offender Learning and Skills (EEOLS) project was to provide funds for offender learning and skills for developing aspects of e-learning linked to identified needs across offender education and training.
For this publication the authors selected a sample of case studies that illustrate the work undertaken in the EEOLS project, highlighting both the benefits and barriers of e-learning with offenders and those who work with them. The case studies reflect a range of organisations and partnerships, although the secure estate does feature prominently as lead organisation and as partners and participants.
