About This Publication
The family learning workforce continues to increase in size and is required to work with a wider range of partners and organisations. It is therefore vital that there is a range of relevant training on offer.
Family Learning: Professional Practice – Training resources to support CPD and qualification units was developed in consultation with practitioners and key organisations in the sector to meet the needs of the expanding family learning workforce. They have been written to integrate with existing qualifications for teachers in the lifelong learning sector. Because they have been mapped to these qualifications they could form part of the optional units. They have also been mapped to the National Occupational Standards for Family Learning and Working with Parents. Hence, this publication can be a core component of continuing professional development to meet the needs of the workforce. The resources in this pack are to support the units at Levels 2–4. The units have been designed to provide all staff, currently working in and supporting family learning, with appropriate skills and knowledge to deliver a high-quality provision.
