About This Publication
This joint NIACE/MLA publication supports the development of effective family learning provision in museums, libraries and archives. It is for managers and practitioners in museums, libraries, archives and family learning services, to support collaboration and partnership in a rapidly changing environment. It builds on the evaluation of family learning programmes in museums in the North West.
Two mini-book resources, designed for families who are not regular visitors, accompany this publication. A mini-guide to museums and galleries for families highlights what to expect and how to share the experiences of a visit to a museum or gallery. A mini-guide to libraries and archives for families identifies how to share the experience of a visit to a library or archive together.
Resources available:
Families, learning and culture: inspiring families through museums, libraries and archives
