Countdown to Retail is an embedded numeracy-into-retail programme aimed at adult learners who want to:
• work in the retail sector; and
• improve their numeracy skills.
There is not a formal assessment element to the programme but it is linked to the Adult Numeracy Core Curriculum at Entry Level 3 and Level 1.
Countdown to Retail shows the relevance of numeracy in the workplace in a variety of retail contexts. It is designed to motivate learners to improve their numeracy by using an embedded approach and demonstrates the range of tasks carried out on a day-to-day basis by real people working in the sector.
