Countdown to Construction is an embedded numeracy-into-construction programme aimed at adult learners who want to:
• work in the construction sector;
and
• improve their numeracy skills.
There is not a formal assessment element to the programme but it is linked to the Adult Numeracy Core Curriculum at Entry Level 3 and Level 1.
Countdown to Construction shows the relevance of numeracy in the workplace in a variety of contexts. It is designed to motivate learners to improve their numeracy by using an embedded approach and demonstrates the range of tasks carried out on a day-to-day basis by real people working in the sector.
