About This Publication
Developing financial literacy was a programme of the Basic Skills Agency. Toynbee Hall provides practical services to promote financial capability and financial inclusion. Joint work identified a training need in practitioners around how to deliver financial capability. This research found that there was no formal or professional standing for this emergent discipline and that there was a lack of knowledge about training and accreditation. This need was identified as specifically distinct from that of financial and money advice training aimed at advice workers. This report is an assessment of the supply and demand for training of practitioners working in formal education and the voluntary and community sector, and contains recommendations for moving forward.
